“Shining the Willpower of Bac Giang Youth” – Spreading Love and the Spirit of Resilience
BAC GIANG – On March 31, 2025, at Lang Son Secondary School in Bac Giang City, the Secretariat of the Bac Giang Provincial Youth Union directed the Provincial Club for Youth with Disabilities (YWD) to organize the program “Shining the Willpower of Bac Giang Youth”. The event marked the 27th anniversary of Vietnam Disability Day (April 18, 1998 – April 18, 2025) and created a meaningful space for connection, sharing, and the promotion of positive values within the community.
Spreading the Spirit of Inclusion and the Will to Thrive
The program aimed to empower young people with disabilities, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and strive in their lives, education, and careers. It was also an opportunity to inspire students, especially those facing hardship, with stories of resilience and hope for a brighter future.
In her remarks, Ms. Vu Thi Thang – Head of the Bac Giang YWD Club – highlighted the challenges that people with disabilities continue to face, such as unstable employment, limited access to public services, healthcare, and transportation. “It is essential for society to work together to create an inclusive environment where no one is left behind,” she emphasized.
Meaningful Gifts, Empowering Dreams
The organizers presented 12 gift packages, each worth VND 500,000, to 12 students with disabilities currently studying at Lang Son Primary and Secondary Schools. These gifts served not only as material support but also as a message of hope and encouragement for their future.
Stories That Inspire
A highlight of the event was the open dialogue between youth with disabilities and students. The powerful stories of perseverance shared by club members deeply moved the audience and drew heartfelt applause for their courage and determination.
One such story came from Mr. Than Ngoc Manh, who was born with brittle bone disease and has never been able to walk. Despite his physical challenges, he lives independently and is actively involved in social work, charity initiatives, and community safety.
Another was Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, who lost his right arm in a traffic accident. Rather than giving up, he became a content creator, using social media to spread positivity and share his inspiring journey.
When asked about their dreams, both men expressed a deeply human and heartfelt desire: “Just like anyone else, we dream of having a loving family, a home filled with warmth and understanding, and raising children in a nurturing environment. Though the path may be difficult, we believe that with love, empathy, and determination, we can make that dream come true.”
Building an Inclusive School Environment
Representatives from Lang Son Secondary School also emphasized the importance of collaboration between families, schools, and society to support the holistic development of students with disabilities. With the right care and encouragement, these students can shine brightly and grow into their full potential.
“Shining the Willpower of Bac Giang Youth” was more than just a meaningful event – it was a powerful statement about perseverance, compassion, and the strength to rise above life’s challenges. Everyone who attended left with a fuller heart and a deeper belief in the power of resilience.
Let us continue to spread love, support, and build an inclusive community – where no one is left behind.
